I have researched the possibilities of setting up an exclusive boutique to promote South African Angora mohair products. I am inspired by mohair, a wonderfully versatile natural fiber. A fiber that is produced without harming animals and that could be used for manufacturing a multitude of different products.
There are various international and South African fashion designers who have realized the potential of mohair and who have fallen in love with its characteristics. Fashion forecaster Li Edelkoort was one who had long read the signs; an appreciation of authentic style, quality, natural fibers and handmade products will rise again.
The result of the research was that the global trends and circumstances are currently very favorable for the luxury fiber market. Mohair fashion products stand a very good chance to be successfully retailed in The Netherlands.
